Florida Man series creator Donald Todd says his new Netflix show asks how 'Florida Man' became a thing. '[People] laugh at the mug shots and the headlines,' said Todd, 'but what's the story behind the meme?' Speaking with Netflix's Tudum , creator/showrunner and executive producer Todd talked about why he's fascinated by Florida Man memes. 'As I grew up, I never stopped thinking about why Florida is Florida,' said Todd. 'Florida is a thin layer of porous crust on top of a hundred feet of water, and it's maybe a few feet above sea level… it might all sink.
